It was god awful. After the first taste I just gulped it down. I would have held my nose, but it was too busy gripping the armrest of my chair so as not to get up and spit it out.
Since there was another one to look forward to, we added half the amount of pineapple and half the amount of apple to it that many of the other juices call for and thankfully it was just fine. Wow... do not want to repeat that ever again! The funny thing is, I've had just vegetable juices and they were delish.
Last night I didn't write this posting because we were busy looking at juicers online, trying to decide which on is the best for us. The one I borrowed for us is an Omega and it's about 10 years old. Omegas have a 10 year warranty, but this one just seems old. It was juicing better when we got it (unless compared to our old one and it's lack of capacity we overlooked certain things), but I think we've worn it out by constant use and the pulp is extremely wet. The new Omega of the centrifuge style looks basically the same, but I'm sure it's vastly improved. But Omega also has a vertical masticating juicer that is great with greens an many pro juicers love them. But it's slow... and even more expensive than my heart's desire.
But my heart belongs to Breville. The Juice Fountain Elite 800JEXL to be exact. She's a beaut! Fast, powerful and great juice extraction. Not great for greens, but if you put them in between wet stuff like apples, it does a good enough job. I'm more about the speed and ease of use than that the juice can be stored for days without oxidation. I drink it as soon as it's made if I can. I think I'd still be getting a heck of a lot more nutrients than I would if I weren't juicing at all.
And I do plan to continue juicing at least once a day after Day 7. I'm the train that was running full speed, out of control, hurtling towards the bridge that is out. But, what feels like just in time, the track was switched and I'm on the health train now.
